WorkNomads is seeking a talented and experienced APIOps Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in managing, monitoring, and optimizing the API infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise in API management platforms, best practices, and industry standards to help teams improve their API lifecycle management, performance, security, and overall developer experience.

We are recruiting an APIOps Engineer professional to join our team, working remote from Sofia or anywhere.


Dare to have a mission:

  • Manage and maintain the API infrastructure, including the deployment, configuration, and optimization of API gateways, proxies, and middleware components.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring tools and processes to ensure the performance and availability of APIs. Proactively identify and address issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain API security measures, including access controls, authentication, and encryption.
  • Investigate and resolve API-related incidents and problems. Create and maintain documentation for issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline API operations and deployments.
  • Plan and implement strategies to scale our API infrastructure as needed to accommodate increasing workloads and user demands.
  • Create and maintain documentation for API operations, configurations, and best practices.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and IT teams, to ensure seamless API operations.


The tools in your backpack:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in API operations, API management, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of API technologies, protocols, and standards (e.g., REST, SOAP, HTTP, JSON, XML).
  • Experience with API gateway solutions (e.g., Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, etc.) is an asset.
  • Scripting and automation experience (e.g., Python, Shell, Bash) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Very good command of English
