We are an international engineering and design consultancy company currently developing a hospitality project in Uruguay. For the successful execution, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with a background in Architecture or Civil Engineering to lead the construction of the high-end hotel in Uruguay. As the local representative of our company, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction life cycle, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest international standards.
Dare to have a mission:
· Act as the primary point of contact on the construction site, monitoring progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to safety protocols.
· Coordinate stakeholders - between the international design team, local subcontractors, suppliers, and municipal authorities.
· Ensure all construction activities comply with the approved designs, Uruguayan building codes, labor laws (MTSS), and environmental regulations.
· Manage the project schedule (Gantt), track milestones, and provide detailed weekly progress reports in English.
· Monitor project expenditures, verify invoices from local vendors, and assist in the procurement of local materials and services.
· Conduct regular inspections and manage the "snag list" (punch list) process to ensure architectural excellence.
The tools in your backpack:
· University degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
· Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in construction management.
· Proven track record in hospitality (hotel) projects or high-end residential complexes.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and MS Project (advantage).
· Native/Fluent Spanish and Professional English.
Preferred Qualifications to be considered as strong advantage:
· Professional Registration: Active license and registration with the relevant professional body in Uruguay (e.g., Sociedad de Arquitectos del Uruguay or Asociación de Ingenieros del Uruguay) with the ability to sign off on municipal permits.
· Deep understanding of Uruguayan building codes (UNIT), municipal regulations (Intendencias), and environmental standards.
· Labor & Social Security Knowledge: Solid experience with Ley 14.411 and the specific social security contribution system for the construction industry in Uruguay (BPS - Aportes a la Construcción).
· Established relationships with reputable local suppliers, subcontractors, and authorities.
